Congratulations to the UNC hockey team on taking 3rd place in the ACCHL Tournament! The Tarheels upset higher-seeded NC State and Georgetown on the way to their bronze medal finish, despite losing to both during the regular season.

UNC Ice Hockey finished its regular season with four exciting hockey games against Duke, NC State, and Virginia Tech. The ACCHL tournament is coming up this weekend, February 20-22 in Roanoke VA. Come cheer on UNC as they take on the other ACCHL teams in postseason play. The results from UNC's final regular-season games are as follows:
Feb. 6: UNC 4, NC State 9
Feb. 7: UNC 1, Duke 4
Feb. 13: UNC 1, VA Tech 4
Feb. 14: UNC 7, NC State (D3) 5

Tonight the Team plays Appalacian State in their first home game of the year. The game starts at 10pm at the Triangle Sportsplex in Hillsborough. The team saw the departure of a few members last year, but four new players have joined the team- Justin Blair, Peter Floyed, John Thompson and Alex Loehr.

The team went to Liberty for an away game. The score was North Carolina 4, LIBERTY 15.

The team went to Virginia for an away game. The score was North Carolina 6,VIRGINIA 3.

UNC played Liberty tonight in the last game of the semester. The score was 5-8, Liberty.

UNC played UVA on Friday night and won, 6-3. A couple of players were injured, but none seriously. This Saturday afternoon, November 22nd, the team takes on the team from Liberty. Hope to see you all there at the Triangle Sportsplex!

Congratulations to UNC for winning the 2008 James Sapikowski Memorial Tournament! It was a long weekend but everyone had a great time watching the four teams come together for some fantastic collegiate hockey. Thank you to everyone who participated, helped make it happen, and especially to the fans for cheering us on to victory!! Keep an eye out in the next week for photos from the tournament to become available.

The 2008 James Sapikowski Memorial Tournament is this weekend, November 7-9, and will be held out at the Triangle Sportsplex. James' oldest son will be at the 4:15 Saturday game to drop the puck! Tickets are only $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for students with ID. Come enjoy some regional collegiate hockey! Photo books of the event will also be available for reservation at the tournament, and you will have the opportunity to purchase some UNC Hockey Gear as well! Raffles will also be held, so come check out the great prizes!

Welcome to the new and improved UNC Hockey website! This website is for the men's ice hockey club team at UNC Chapel Hill. The team is led by Coach Bud Johnson, and assistant Coach Earl Anderson. The 2008-2009 season roster has been announced, and is posted on the roster page.

The second game of the season was an away game, UNC vs UNC-Charlotte. We won with a score of 6-2.

The first game of the season was an away game, UNC at Clemson. UNC lost to Clemson, 9-2. Two players were injuredduring the game, captain Reuben Kamp and goalie Kyle Salvadore, and required stitches.
